51 x 43 x 64 in.
Inspired by “L'Arlésienne” by Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh created a memorable series of portraits of the woman who owned his apartment in Arles. Johnson took pains to place the vivid colors and exuberant brush strokes that van Gogh used to make a vivacious flesh tone when he painted her bronze face. The startling beauty of the smudges and energetic dabs of paint from the van Gogh can be seen in the patina of the bronze.
